We welcome children of all ages in our Worship Service. At the Information Center in the rear of the Sanctuary, we offer children a “Book Bucket” with books and activities for their use. Parents, please do not be concerned if your young child cries. We believe that the cries of young children signal that the church is alive, well, and destined to continue for generations to come.

Graphic of Redeemer Kids Activities

Redeemer Kids’ Activities

In keeping with our attempt to be a missional church, we are encouraging our church family to invest in one another’s lives as we strengthen our investment in our community at large. One of the ways we can do that is by investing in our children.

We’d like to provide an opportunity for the congregation at Redeemer Presbyterian Church to participate in supporting our children by making an effort to get involved in attending their extracurricular activities, like sports, music, theatre and recitals, etc. A listing of events will be made available to seasonally highlight when and where we can show up and support our kids.

Our hope and prayer is that, as our kids grow up, our faithful support and investment in them will be a testament to the love of Christ. If you’d like your children’s events included in the calendar, please contact Amy Stearns via email by clicking here to send her a message.

Note: Clicking on this link will launch your computer’s default email application. However, if you normally connect to your emailbox over the web by webmail—such as AOL or gmail—and do not use a dedicated email application on your computer, you will need to launch your webmail and send your email to “amyserridge@gmail.com”

The current Redemmer Kids’ Activities Schedule includes the following “when” and “where” you can show up to support our kids!

Lilah Pontzer:

December 15th at 2:00 p.m.—Erie Philharmonic Choir Concert at Strong Vincent Middle School.

December 17th at 7:00 p.m.—Erie Philharmonic Choir Concert at the lobby of the Warner Theater.

Monthly Prayer Focus logo

November, 2024

At the September Meeting of the Presbytery of the Alleghenies, missionary Patricia Premick made a presentation about her work in Taiwan and her move to Thailand. Pat was previously the subject of the Redeemer Monthly Prayer Focus for September, 2023. Her circumstances have changed in Taiwan, and she is moving the location of her ministry to Thailand.

Pat hails from the Presbytery of the Alleghenies’ North Park Church in Wexford, PA. She is associated with the EPC World Outreach and Mesa Global. Her goal is to minister to the Thai people she encounters and to the large number of Taiwanese who are emigrating to Thailand.

She asks for our prayers and notes the following requests:

  • A positive transition into the Thai culture and into her new country of ministry

  • Her ability and perseverance, in order to learn the Thai language

  • Her seeking God for direction and for what her ministry will look like

  • That her home and table will be a place of respite and peace for all who enter

  • That she may be able to build a community with her Mesa Global team and others

As a Church, How are We Doing?

At the Meeting of Session on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the Ruling Elders adopted 2024 Goals and Enabling Objectives for the Congregation of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. You may review these Goals and Objectives by clicking here.

As the people of Redeemer move forward, serving as abassadors for Christ and His Kingdom to a needy world, we must strive for continuous improvement. These Goals and Enabling Objectives give us some markers by which we can evaluate our forward movement. As Session continues to discuss and work with these Goals and Objectives for 2024, they will share additional strategies to implement them.

Therefore, we urge each of you to very prayerfully and thoughtfully review the Goals and Enabling Objectives for 2024 and consider how you will help your brothers and sisters at Redeemer facilitate the the realization of these Goals and Objectives.

Prayer Requests

More and more, we want to become a praying church. Thus, we want to continually hold each other up in prayer.

We want to celebrate your joys. We want to rejoice with you concerning the answers you’ve received to your prayers. And, we want to know about your trials, sorrows, difficulties, and concerns so that we can earnestly and fervently pray with you and pray for you.

Please don’t wait until Sunday to share with us. We welcome your Prayer Requests all week long.

If you have a Prayer Request during the week, you may connect with our prayer warriors through our Facebook “Praise and Prayer” page. Or, especially if your prayer request is of a more confidential nature, please send an email to the email address noted below.

Upon receipt, we will either activate our Prayer Chain enabling our prayer warriors to pray for your request; or, if you mark your request “Confidential,” we will only share your prayer request with the Pastor and our three Ruling Elders.

To send us a Prayer Request by email, please just click here.

However, if you normally connect to your emailbox over the web by webmail—such as AOL or gmail—and do not use a dedicated mail application on your computer, you will need to launch your webmail and send your request to “prayer@rpcerie.org”
